Columbia University Professor and poet Paolo Valesio will speak on Tuesday, Jan. 11 as part of the 2010-2011 Walker Ames Public Lecture Series. Valesio, the Walker Ames Endowed Lecturer, proposes the grounding of poetry and mysticism in historical context to break from their abstract natures: for poetry, the context of modern Italy; and for mysticism, that of Judeo-Christian tradition.
