The philosophy of Gilles Deleuze is perhaps one of the most important but least understood syntheses of cinema history and philosophy in the last forty years. In this two-hour discussion session, Joe Milutis will give a general introduction to Gilles Deleuze’s major books Cinema One and Cinema Two (English translation), with particular emphasis on Deleuze’s philosophy of the virtual, and its relation to the work of Henri Bergson.
